Community Guidelines
Forró Hannover welcomes and accepts all people. We care about you
and expect you to care about others.
In order to foster a safer and more enjoyable space we, as a
community, agree to the following guidelines:
Respect your fellow dancers
- Personal space and boundaries must always be respected.
- Be aware of what others want or don't want during a dance.
- Anyone can ask or invite for a dance. Gender does not imply
dance role.
- Persistent unwanted attention, on or off the dance floor, is
unacceptable.
- No unsolicited teaching on the dance floor
It’s ok to say “NO”
- It is always okay to say "no" to a dance request.
- If you receive a “no” to a dance request, try not to take it
personally. Seek for another dance partner.
- Consenting to dance does not mean to consent to anything
else.
- Consent can change over time.
- Everything after a "no" is considered harassment and will not
be tolerated.
Communicate with your dance partner
- Use respectful language: it's not welcomed to make
sexual/discriminating comments or jokes.
- Accidental contact of sensitive body parts:
apologise.
- If something hurts or is uncomfortable, tell your partner. No
matter their status within the community.
- It's ok to stop a dance at any time, also during a song/set
- If your flirting is not welcome, let it go.
Space and Body Awareness
Dancers should be aware of their own and their partners movement and
position as well as that of other dancers around them. Avoid collisions.
Personal Care and Hygiene
- Remember, we are dancing closely with people.
- Good hygiene will make the dance more comfortable and enjoyable
for everyone.
- We provide deodorant and breath mints/gum, feel free to use
it.
- If you feel sick, stay at home. Take care of yourself and avoid
getting others sick too.
Photo Policy
- Inform photographers if you don't want to be filmed
- Tagging removal available on request
